🎮 Map Controls

The BlueMap viewer is interactive and easy to navigate. All controls work with mouse, trackpad, and touch screens.

Action Mouse / Trackpad Touch
Pan / Move Click and drag (left mouse button) Drag with one finger
Zoom In / Out Scroll wheel up / down Pinch to zoom

Fullscreen Click the fullscreen button in the UI corner Tap the fullscreen button
Perspective vs Flat View

BlueMap offers two viewing modes. Perspective view gives you a 3D isometric-style view where you can rotate and tilt the camera to see terrain elevation and buildings from different angles. Flat view is a traditional top-down 2D map that is great for measuring distances and getting an overview of large areas.

🔍 Finding Your Builds

There are several ways to locate your builds on the live map:

  1. Note your coordinates in-game — Press F3 (Java) or enable coordinates in settings (Bedrock) to see your current X/Z position. The map uses the same coordinate system.
  2. Look for player markers — If you are currently online, your player marker shows your live position on the map. Navigate from there to find your builds nearby.
  3. Use the coordinate display — The map shows your cursor coordinates as you hover over the terrain. Move your mouse to the area where you know your build is located and zoom in.
  4. Start from spawn — If you built near spawn, start at the center of the map (0, 0) and scan outward. Most early-game builds are within a few hundred blocks of spawn.
Tip

Keep a note of your base coordinates. Write them down or take a screenshot of your F3 screen. This makes it easy to find your builds on the map later, and is also helpful if you get lost in-game.

🗺 Map Coverage & Updates

Pre-Generated Area
5,000 blocks from spawn
Covers a 10,000 x 10,000 block area centered on world spawn
Beyond Pre-Gen
Renders as explored
New chunks appear on the map as players explore them

The map is pre-generated to 5,000 blocks from spawn in every direction, which means the entire area within that radius is fully rendered and visible on the map even if nobody has walked there yet. This covers a total area of 10,000 by 10,000 blocks — a massive region that covers more than enough ground for most server activity.

Outside the pre-generated radius, the map renders new terrain as players explore it. Map tiles update approximately every 5 minutes while players are online, so recent changes to the world (new builds, cleared land, terraforming) will appear on the map within a few minutes.

When does the map update?

Map tiles are re-rendered periodically while the server has active players. If nobody is online, the map freezes at its last known state and resumes updates when players log back in. A full map render after major world changes may take some time to propagate across all zoom levels.

🎨 INVO-ke Custom Theme

The live map features a custom pink and purple theme matching the INVO-ke Gaming brand. The BlueMap UI elements — menus, buttons, panels, markers, and overlays — have been styled with the server's signature colors for a cohesive look across the website, wiki, and map.

🎨

Custom UI Colors

Menu panels, buttons, and controls use the INVO-ke pink/purple palette instead of BlueMap's default blue.

🖇

Branded Markers

Player markers, labels, and overlays are styled to match the server theme for a unified visual identity.

🛠 Troubleshooting

Map is not loading or shows a blank screen

  • Make sure you are using a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari). BlueMap uses WebGL for 3D rendering.
  • Try clearing your browser cache or opening the map in an incognito/private window.
  • Check that JavaScript is enabled in your browser settings.
  • If on mobile, make sure you have a stable internet connection — the initial map load downloads terrain data.

Map looks outdated or my build is missing

Map render delay

The map updates every 5 minutes while players are online. If you just built something, wait a few minutes and refresh the page. Larger builds may take longer to fully appear across all zoom levels. If the server was recently restarted, the first render cycle may take slightly longer.

Performance is slow or laggy in the browser

  • Try switching from perspective view to flat view — flat view requires less GPU power.
  • Zoom out less aggressively — very wide zoom levels render more terrain tiles at once.
  • Close other browser tabs to free up memory.
  • On older devices, the 3D rendering may be limited by your GPU. Flat view is the best option in this case.

Player markers are not showing

  • Player markers only appear for players who are currently online.
  • Some players may have their visibility hidden if the server has a vanish plugin.
  • Try refreshing the page — player positions update periodically.
